There is safety in multitudes, but overdone, it could spiral into confusion. It is good to decide on a plan of action, early enough. And be loyal to that plan. Because if you overrely on your back up plans, the major plan becomes a façade. 

The thing about having so many options is that it can distract you from paying attention to one. And that is a fine recipe for failure.
